Lake District

Today was a sightseeing day for 3 of us (that’s all that could fit in Pastor Trevor’s car; he took the others on earlier days). The Lake District is absolutely stunning…reminded me of Glacier National Park (with much smaller mountains).

Narrow roads, mountains, waterfalls, deep gorgeous lakes, open range sheep and picturesque villages all made for a grand finale for me in England. We went to Keswick. We also stopped in a village called Grasmere (ate a biscuit of Grasmere Gingerbread… beware of imitations). Poet William Wordsworth is buried here.

We returned in time to meet with the District Superintendent of the British Isles South District, Rev. David Montgomery. We will have a fellowship time at the church with Rev. Montgomery and the folks of Knowlys Rd. Nazarene.

We leave at 5:45am from the hotel for the long ride home. Can’t wait to get home!

I am a native of Circleville, Ohio, and in a long, roundabout way, I’ve “come back home.” My family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I graduated from Nazarene Bible College. From there we relocated to Olathe, Kansas to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary. Our first pastoral assignment brought us back to the Buckeye State, serving in Marietta. After pastoring there for 4 years, we came to Pickerington in 1996 where we’ve served for the past 15 years. I’m a sports nut and enjoy the great outdoors (fishing, hiking, and biking). Family life is the really big deal for me. I’m married to Cathy, and we have 3 adult children (Michele Manson, Josh & Tiffany Manson, and Mary & Kyle McManamy). We also have 2 granddaughters, Isabella & Ava. I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Looks like you had a wonderful time, with the work st the church along with the sightseeing. But, like Dorothy said….”there’s no place like home!” praying all to have safe travels back to the USA!
